ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Discover our local walnuts.

Local walnuts bring together the distinctive fruit characteristics of different walnut trees in our orchard. Varying in size and quality characteristics, our walnuts offer a wide range of uses, from everyday eating to cooking, for anyone who enjoys traditional walnut flavour.

Nut size, shell thickness, kernel colour and kernel fullness in our local walnuts may vary from tree to tree. Some walnuts may be larger and easier to crack, while others may be smaller or have harder shells. The amount of kernel obtained from in-shell walnuts also varies with these characteristics. There is therefore no single kernel yield or uniform nut size across all products.

Local in-shell walnuts can be enjoyed at breakfast or as a snack, and used in baklava, cakes, biscuits, salads and regional dishes. Large kernel pieces are suited to presentation, while smaller pieces and ground walnuts work well in desserts and baking.

This diversity from different trees in our orchard gives our local walnuts a character of their own. When choosing walnuts, size is not the only consideration: kernel fullness, flavour and intended use also matter.
